Spec work for a Japanese fusion restaurant that's a long-term fixture in the neighborhood. Sources of inspiration included signage from the streets of Japan paired with a light 70's retro influence to honor the decade in which the owner arrived in America. I chose the colors to reflect the primary colors of a classic salmon roll, and "taki" can mean "waterfall" in Japanese, so the logo captures both the flow of water and the striations of perfectly prepared sashimi.
